Did you know that trees can change sex, slugs have both male and female reproductive organs, and many bird species form same-sex pairs?

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for more inclusive outdoor spaces, Connel Bradwell developed guided walks to challenge conventional ideas of what’s considered “natural” or “unnatural.” From the seedy love lives of plants to the diverse behaviours of birds. These nature walks explore queerness in the natural world with curiosity, science, and a sense of humour.

These sessions blend ecological knowledge with inclusive, community-building experiences, creating space for curiosity, connection, and belonging in nature. Whether guiding a group through urban green spaces or remote trails, Connel brings an approachable, story-rich style that encourages participants to deepen their relationship with local biodiversity..
